Medical Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a procedure in which the surface of the skin is physically removed by applying contact friction with the epidermis. An immediate improvement in surface appearance of the skin is usually seen. As occurs with chemical peels, the post-procedure healing effect creates change in skin consistency and appearance over time. Most people experience no discomfort during the procedure and only minimal redness which usually resolves within twenty-four hours. Microdermabrasion is commonly used to treat and/or diminish the following:
- Blackheads & Whiteheads
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sun damaged Skin
- Acne Prone Skin
- Superficial Age Spots
- Oily Skin
- Dry or Patchy Skin
The most recent advancement in microdermabrasion technology has been the development of high-grade, medical quality, steel wands which are encrusted with diamond particles. The diamond-tipped steel approach has distinct advantages over more common and less timely aluminum-oxide crystal systems, including no potential for skin or pulmonary toxicity, more predictable and controllable outcomes, and no mess on clothing or skin after the treatment.
DiamondSkin Microdermabrasion
The medical grade DiamondSkin product, which unlike other diamond microdermabrasion machines has the added benefit of providing post-treatment oxygen to the newly exposed skin layers. Oxygen is a natural and effective way to help decrease skin inflammation and stimulate production of dermal collagen.
